Much like 2010 Raiders draft wonder WR Jacoby Ford, Oakland Raiders 2011 Camp Sensation Denarius Moore has made a habit of making big plays. In fact the Denarius Moore “playmaker” Bio is so full of huge plays, we’ll start our Denarius Moore profile with this list of them…

Denarius Moore Video Clip | Oakland WR Moore Has Wheels & Fluent Stride

Watch Denarius Moore in this NFL combine 40-yard dash video clip above. Pay attention to the fluent strides, and notice his getoff was only OK, considering Moore clocked a blazing 4.37 on that run. Denarius Moore nearly equaled another Raiders 2011 draft pick Demarcus Van Dyke, ”DVD” and his 4.28 lightning bolt, both enamoring them to a guy by the name of Al Davis.

Seeing his first NFL action Thursday night, the rookie WR caught three passes for 41 yards on six targets in the preseason opener against the Cardinals. Despite nearly ubiqiotous pregame jitters for a rookies first NFL series, Moore Looked like the same notably calm and confident playmaker Raiders coaches have witnessed this summer in Napa. Denarius also busted out a jitterbug punt return for 59-yards that was wiped from the books with yellow laundry. Denarius Moore entered Thursday’s contest late in the 1st quarter, immediately beating cornerback A.J. Jefferson for a 26-yard gain. The standout since the beginning of camp, Moore didn’t disappoint in his exhibition debut

Get to Know Denarius Moore | Raiders Moore talks 40 yard dash times …

Denarius Moore talks about his 40-yrad dash time at the Tennessee pro day, Moore also discusses “drops” and his plan to correct them for NFL scouts. Humble yet confident, Moore is a gamer with the right attitude and ability to flourish paired with the strong-armed Jason Campbell.

Enjoy the awesome video quality of this Denarius Moore Highlights clip. Current Oakland Raider and former Tennessee Volunteer WR Denarius Moore is a playmaker folks, period.

Raiders fans should note that Denarius Moore caught nine touchdowns in 2010 at Tennessee. Play on Playa! Moore is also known to be humble and hardworking, a breath of fresh air at the diva laden position of Wide Receiver in the NFL. Jerry Porter and his championship belt (of what JP?), Denarius Moore is certainly not . Raiders scouts have been on fire recently, unearthing passed over talent (Lamarr Houston, Jacoby Ford, Jared Veldheer, Louis Murphy, Tyvon Branch, Denarius Moore, even the “reach” Al Davis made selecting now Eagle Nnamdi Asomugha) that blossom into Sunday playmakers.Almost more importantly than the Oakland Raiders scouting dept finding diamonds in the rough with playmaking ability, has been that they have selected football junkies with work ethic (call it the Jamarcus “Hangover”) like Rolando McClain, eschewing the divas and Michael Crabtrees of the world.

Raidergirls welcomes Raiders WR Denarius Moore and his big play ability to Oakland!!!

Unanimously respected Cal alum, and now ex Oakland Raider Nnamdi Asomugha, will become a shutdown corner in the land of the cheesesteak. Though I loathe the idea of losing Nnam, I am happy for him, and soooooo glad Asomugha did not become merely the latest made for tv sound bite… on either “Hard Knocks- Broadways Latest”, or as a shiny new piece undeneath the massive 100-foot monstrosity in “Jerry Does Dallas – Hangin’ with Hard Knocks & the Cowboys.”

That Nnamdi brings his immense man cover skills (though exclusively at right cornerback I believe, not a “follow best WR to either side” cover corner… a minor but relevant note at 10+ million ducats per) to Philly sucks ass no doubt, but that it wasn’t the Jets or Cowboys helps. Asomugha to Eagles fans is a final signature piece to Andy reid’s carefully orchestrated dance between dog killer Michael Vick and the fickle Philadelphia sports community. Akin to washing down a gooey “wit wiz” Jim’s Steak on South street with a pure Yuengling, Nnamdi represents a sort of “Anti Vick” to Eagles fans not quite sold on backing Reid’s delicate dance with the devil. Raiders fans still mad at the Philadelphia Eagles… watch the Louis Murphy Kills Philadelphia Eagles video clip for consolation.

Nnamdi Asomugha Character Counts

Asomugha’s character is beyond reproach. That Nnamdi chose Philadelphia in his title quest, also helps understand his motivations, and soothes the sting of watching Jerry or Rex talk about their new toy. Nnamdi wants to win a Superbowl and he thinks his best chances are with Andy Reid and Mike Vick. Yes it stings Raiders fans, and converting an “Asomugha #21″ jersey to “Branch #21″ ‘aint easy. The idea of of our articulate first round “reach” by Al Davis in 2003 posing on the Cowboy star, or talking smack with Rex Ryan, nauseating…

Broadway Aso?
Why Nnamdi to the Jets would have been sad: why become yet another mercenary of Big Apple sports, brought to the city where the comment “embarassment of riches” meets nothing but a selfish smirk. Indeed, New York’s bounty is already wayyyy overfull. Asomugha’s impact would be lost amongst Jeter, Arod and a Rex Ryan press conference. Asomugha, and his gift for philanthropy, did make a difference here in the community of Oakland, as a big fish in a resurging pond. In the Big Apple, Nnamdi would have simply become the latest athlete/actor in the toxic Hudson.

Asomugha All Helmet, No Cattle?
Why Nnamdi Asomugha to the Dallas Cowboys would have been sad: The cool and classy Asomugha paired with the gynormous megawatt marketing machine of Jerry Jones (an Al Davis friend BTW) didn’t feel right. Better to serve Paul Giamatti a nice Merlot with his Ribeye, than pair Jerry Jones and Nnamdi Asomugha. Many would argue that Al Davis has already led Nnamdi to the “Dark Side” of pigskin and money, right where the Jerry Jones football machine lurks, but it would be untrue. Nnamdi stayed classy even through the infamous Bed & Breakfast offense era. No, Asomugha to Dallas would have been very wrong indeed. Almost as if I want to say Nnamdi was better than that, or bigger than the spectacle of that particular self-induced NFL circus.

Asomugha a California Kid

Few would have dared held a grudge against the universally liked Asomugha, had he walked to either ill-suited NFL super-hype locale. Native Californians though, certainly regret the loss of yet another inspirational “hometown” boy makes good story, even to the city of Brotherly love..

Nnamdi Asomugha was born in Lafayette, Louisiana but was raised in Los Angeles, California. Asomugha attended Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California and Bishop Montgomery High School in Torrance, California before transferring to and graduating from Narbonne High School in Harbor City, California, playing high school basketball and football. Asomugha went to California Berkeley (Cal), where he finished his career with 187 tackles, three sacks, 19 stops for losses, eight interceptions, three touchdowns, 15 pass deflections, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble in 41 games as a free safety. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Finance.

Nnamdi Asomugha, the Oakland Raider

Everybody from the average Oakland Raiders dockworker fan to the United Way of the bay Area, where Asomugha recently became an UWBA ambassador, wanted Nnamdi to remain an Oakland Raider. So much more importantly though, they wish for the bright and articulate Asomugha to remain an agent for good in this community.

Asomugha was all that and a bag O’ chips here in Oakland, and was destined to become the face of a new stadium and a new era of Raiders football under the fiery Hue Jackson. Indeed Nnamdi could have remained an icon of good with the magical Cali team that drafted him, but we are again soothed that Asomugha did not seek fame & fortune amongst the mass epicenters of the NFL.

Oakland Raiders fans loved Asomugha for remaining humble while ascending to stardom, and bringing class and character to our renegade team. Nnamdi also posessed incredible football smarts, and the overall “Oakland Raiders football intelligence” quotient will drop noticeably with his departure. Now, with the 2011 Oakland Raiders set to build upon the battering of the AFC West, Nnamdi finally had what we thought were the complimentary pieces in place to win here with us. Richard Seymour, Lamarr Houston, Hue Jackson, and a wicked tandem of running backs in Darren Mcfadden and Michael Bush. Raider Nation now hopes that Al Davis logic dictating that we could get “2 or 3 players” for Nnamdi type money pays off.

Losing Nnamdi Asomugha simply sucks Raiders fans, lets hope Stanford Routt and the kiddies (the Raiders have 8 cornerbacks in camp) can pick up the slack on the field. There will be no replacing Nnamdi Asomugha outside of the hashmarks and in the community, he was that special.

Though Raiders fans regret the choice Asomugha has made, he had earned the right to make it. Here’s to you Nnamdi Asomugha, a great player and greater person. Thank you for what you started in Oakland, the Raiders and this city were made better by your inspiration.

Since the NFL labor dispute has, since yesterday’s bizarre NFL Owners blindsided cutback block on the NFLPA , officially reached the point of ridonkulous… raidergirls counters with an equally silly and short Bo Jackson Oakland Raiders Tecmo Bowl video.

Bo Knows Tecmo…

This Amazing Tecmo Bowl run, pitting the Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots no less, features Bo Jackson busting off an 99 yard TD run in Nintendo Tecmo Bowl… and Jackson runs out the entire quarter doing it. Classical old school delight. As Tanner boyle would have duly noted, if you didn’t at least chuckle watching this classic Raiders Tecmo Bowl video, you must be a complete booger eatin’ spazz.

The Amazing quarter long Bo Jackson Tecmo Run

Bo Knows Tecmo, 99-yard Raiders TD

So Bo Knows crazy Tecmo Bowl runs that make Gale Sayers appear pedestrian by comparison, but why is that classic to us? If you were born after 1980, this Raiders video would be a mere 1 lombardi worthy chuckle , but for old schoolers who grew up on the pure magic of Nintendo Tecmo Bowl, this Raiders video clip is seriously a 10+ lombardi worthy memory.

One entire quarter goes Bo on this classic tecmo bowl run against the hapless Patsy defense. Love it the way Darren McFadden loved the Denver Donkey Defense in 2010 fellow Raiders fans.

Tecmo Bowl Random facts:

Lawrence Taylor of New York and Dexter Manley of Washington could block any field goal or extra point in Tecmo Bowl simply by selecting them and running down the line and through the long snapper.

San Francisco and Miami each had a passing play that was nearly unstoppable against any Tecmo Bowl defense. Properly timed, the slot receiver curl route from the shotgun. Human defenses could stop this by double teaming the curl receiver with the defensive end.

The QBs with the best Tekmo Bowl stats throw the hardest, fastest passes even if the real life player doesn’t have the strongest arm. That is why Joe Montana throws harder than John Elway in Tecmo Bowl, even though the real Elway has a much stronger arm.

Tecmo Bowl was not able to get the NFL’s consent to use real team names. As a result, the teams in the game are identified solely by their home city or state. However, each roster mimics that of the NFL team based out of the same city or state. Tecmo Bowl only used players from twelve of the best and most popular teams. The teams mimicked in the game are the Indianapolis Colts, the Miami Dolphins, the Cleveland Browns, the Denver Broncos, the Seattle Seahawks, the Los Angeles Raiders, the Washington Redskins, the San Francisco 49ers, the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Giants, the Chicago Bears, and the Minnesota Vikings.

Each Tecmo Bowl team had a different level of effectiveness based on its personnel and play selection.Chicago (with Walter Payton and Mike Singletary) and San Francisco (Joe Montana and Ronnie Lott) were two of the top teams because they had top talent on both offense and defense. The then Los Angeles Raiders had the fastest offensive player in the game in Bo Jackson, but the Raiders had only one running play which utilized him. Marcus Allen ran the Raiders other Tecmo Bowl running play.

New York had a middling offense but the fastest defender in Tecmo Bowl, with Lawrence Taylor. Minnesota is among the worst teams in the game with the unfortunate combination of average talent and a terrible playbook which includes an extremely ineffective wide receiver reverse run.

No players featured in the original Tecmo Bowl are still active in the NFL after the retirement of punter Sean Landeta on March 6, 2008. The last player to leave the NFL who was active at the time of the game’s release, yet played for a team not included in the game was kicker Morten Andersen, who retired not long after on December 8, 2008.

Short and Sweet tribute to the real “maverick” of America, Al Davis. Often lost in the ”Bill Belichick is the Albert Einstein of football” mainstream media circle jerk are these two simple facts…

- Al Davis has accomplished more in football than Belichick ever will

- Al Davis will forget more pro football than Belichick will ever know

Raiders Haters and Patriots Lemmings

Sorry Raider haters, and those of you still convinced that Walt Coleman made the right call on that snowy Foxboro evening; the fact is that Al Davis is the smartest man in pro football. His resume as a real life “mail room to board room” story is unsurpassed, by Belicheat or any other polarizing figure in the NFL. The Al Davis story is a far, far cry from the nepotism behind Lane Kiffin, or the Daddys money backing Daniel Snyder.

(***google ”tuck rule snowjob” for our view of the patriots raiders tuck rule playoff game , aka NFL ass-raping post)

While mainstream media continues to down the Belichick kool-aid, straight from the Patriots sagging teets at a nauseating pace, few will note that Richard Seymour is ORGANZING AND PAYING for Oakland Raiders offseason training camp. Yes the same Richard Seymour who led the rookies and free agents off the bus last year, for non-mandatory practices in a hugely symbolic move that set the tone for the Raiders vast improvements in 2010.

For Patriot fans still reading (assuming you can read anything that doesn’t bow down at the Belichick altar) and wondering why Raiders Girls is posting this “Al Davis vs Bill Belichick” football smarts article… it’s because one of your own sent us an email saying they would prefer Nate Solder (drafted with the pick Belichick received from Al davis for Richard Seymour) over the Pro Bowl leader of the Raiders defense.

While you won’t see “Al Davis picks Belichick’s pockets” ticker headlines from ESPN anytime soon, you can be assured Raiders fans, that the trade for Richard Seymour has paid off for the Raiders in spades. Unless Nate Solder becomes a multiple Pro Bowler ala Seymour, this will be another case of Al davis outsmarting the “chosen one” Belichick, the media annointed god of all things football and smart.

More Seymour and the Oakland Raiders

The Raiders practiced at nearby Buford High School. Chip Smith, director of Competitive Edge Sports, said defensive tackle Richard Seymour was the force behind the camp.

“Richard is a friend of ours who we’ve known over the years,” Smith said. “He came to me and said, `I would really like to run some team-led OTAs here in Atlanta and would likeyou guys to organize that for us in conjunction with Jason Campbell.’

Smith said Seymour assumed financial responsibility and planning has been going on for over a month. Seymour presided over the defense during light, non-contact scrimmages and Campbell the offense with an assist from Kyle Boller.”

– The workouts were described as something more than half-speed lolly-gag affairs. The CES staff conducted drill work with players and there were lengthy sessions working with ropes and weights.

Smith said Seymour’s instructions were “to get more intense, to show the public we are serious about getting in shape and showing up in shape.”

– Quotes from Richard Seymour:

“We just wanted to give Atlanta a little taste of the Raiders. It’s been great. It’s a great turnout. The guys are excited. We can’t control what’s going on with the NFL lockout, but we wanted to come out and be able to run some drills and do it in an organized fashion. We wanted to make sure it was organized and first class.”

“We needed to get together. I understand the fans’ frustration with the lockout and we want to play as much as they want us to play. But when the lockout is lifted we want to make sure we’re ready to go. Any time we can come out and develop the chemistry with our teammates. I haven’t seen most of these guys since we played our last game at the beginning of January. It’s a good opportunity to get them in the south, get them some of that southeast heat and I think that’s going to benefit us once the season comes.”

“I think we made huge strides last season, but obviously not making the playoffs is a huge disappointment. But there is only one happy team at the end of the year. I know there are a lot of Falcons fans down here, but we want to make it a Raider Nation.

* Well Richard, Raiders fans have been drinking your Kool-aid since you eloquently dispelled the media created rumor that you did not want to come to Oakland, played your ass off, led the rookies off the bus, and became the team captain and leader that the Raiders defense has needed since Albert Lewis and Greg Biekert departed. You were indeed “born to be a raider” Richard Seymour!

Rating NFL Draft Gurus: Mike Mayock, Mel Kiper, Todd Mcshay

Could be a “scout” for some NFL teams with his access to the NFL dub center to study college game tapes, and Mayock’s consistent ability to rate college prospects transitioning to the NFL level.

Though Mayock will be remembered by some Raiders fans as the guy who seemed lost when the Raiders took Safety Mike Mtchell from the University of Ohio in the 2009 Draft, as many should know him as a very solid, articulate judge of NFL talent.

Said one NFL scout (courtesy PFT) of Mayock “The best guy in the amateur scouting/draftnik business in Mike Mayock. Mike does more film work then any of those other guys put together. He is the only one who has access to the NFL dub center where all the college tapes go before they get distributed to the teams. He watches hours and hours of tape. You might not always agree with his evaluations but he works hard at it and you have to respect that.”

Kiper is a lot like our Oakland Raiders, if you’re not part of the family, you cannot stand him (a guy you enjoy disliking, even though you’re totally glad he’s at the Draft for the entertainment value… read Lamarr Houston: Mel Kiper Eats Dogshit For Breakfast for our personal Kiper fun “grudge”) and cheer wildly when he misses…

And Mel can miss badly, as in Kiper’s now infamous “I’ll see you at his Hall of Fame induction” quote about USC WR Mike Williams at the 2005 draft. Uhh, yeah Mel, if there was a HOF for fat wide receivers who drop lots of passes. Kiper famously sparred (verbally.. damnit to hell) with Colts GM Bill Polian on air after berating his picks. Bottom line on Kiper, he is good for the game of football like Charles Barkley was good for NBA basketball, and neither should be your role model.

Todd Mcshay ESPN

And then there is the cocky frat-boy (no, not Cutler or Roethlisberger) with no experience who has actually made life for college prospects worse (see the family of former QB Andre Woodson whom Mcshay gave a 1st round grade… 6th rounder, quickly cut by NYG, oops).

Mcshay, the poster child for why ESPN should look up “meritocracy” before hiring another NFL draft guru, scores the rare double-dip of stupid and arrogant, and ANYONE who has watched the manicured “fighting” conjured up by ESPN between Kiper and Mcshay, knows they are dumber for it.

Mcshay’s talent was summed up as such by a PFT post quoting a working NFL scout… “Most people at my level feel McShay is a joke. People in the league respect Kiper. He is not a true scout but he does work at it. A lot of his info he gets from connections in the league, and over the years he has made quite a few. When he was younger he used to burn some bridges. He doesn’t do that any more. McShay does not have any good connections. Higher-ups in the league think he is an arrogant asshole. A know-it-all. And he really knows nothing. Whatever he says about a quarterback, take it to the bank, it will be the opposite. McShay is a pretty face who comes across like he knows what he is talking about. He does have good presence, but knows nothing.“

The average armchair NFL fan loses 10 football IQ points (side note: see our 2010 Oakland Raiders Football IQ | Raiders Football Smarts 2010 Raiders football intelligence grades here) every time Mcshay rates another college QB prospect. Much like the “wish it were true” rumor that beer kills off unneeded brain cells, watching the fake ESPN drama between Kiper and Mcshay does indeed kill… your apetite for the NFL offseason.

- Al Davis Moves up to grab Pouncey, Despite No Player Trades to Get Center he Desired

Ok, I gotta admit that under the current (lack of) bargaining agreement, prohibiting player trades, though it would be the most typical of Al Davis draft moves, namely trading up to get the player he covets, unlikely… exactly why Florida guard Mike Pouncey is our surprise Oakland Raiders 2011 draft pick.

….in hopes of creating some Pouncey Mojo, here is a repost of our “is Mike Pouncey the Raiders next great center?” bio from January. Check out the video linked below of a crazy cut block Pouncey delivers on a Penn Stae defender. p.s. – Anybody with the name Wisniewski is of course also welcome to Oakland:

Gruden on Mike Pouncey | Florida’s Pouncey Next Great Raiders Center?

Looking ahead to the Oakland Raiders 2011 needs, there is a glaring omission from the typical “Team of the Decades” Al Davis is always referring to. Successful Raiders teams have always had a dominant beast of a center, built with a shorter (yet thick and stout) frame to root out the rut of d-lineman from the moshpit of humanity in the gridiron trenches. Barret Robbins and Jim Otto come to mind. Florida Center Mike Pouncey could be that man. Former Raiders head coach Jon Gruden likes Pouncey alot, check out this wicked Pouncey video clip and Grudens comments. Pouncey, #55, delivers a punishing decleater cut block to spring the Florida RB for the score. Pouncey shows amazing feet for his size. Might Pouncey look good in Silver & Black?

Having a Pittsburgh Steelers buddy means watching lots of Mike Tomlin press conferences (Tomlin is awesome, and a Tomlin presser is epic fun for any fan of pigskin) and Stan Savran talking Terrible Towels. One guy stands out every time the Big Benny Roethlisberger highlights roll, the Steelers rookie and All Pro center Maurkice Pouncey. Well it turns out Maurkice has a “baby” bro by the name of Mike Pouncey, also an All American offensive lineman from the Florida Gators.

The 2010 Raiders alternated between the undersized (or a lack of the feakish brute strength of a Barret Robbins) yet gamey Samson Satele, and the six-foot-eight rookie Jared Veldheer. Veldheer got chucked around in an unfair first start at center against the Titans, while flashing some downfield blocking artistry at times, before settling in nicely as the Raiders starting Left Tackle. Satele had some very good games in 2010, and played with a great motor, but lacks the “root out the pig” strength Robbins used to tame the Jamal Williams and Ted Washingtons of the NFL. A friend once joked that “Satele on ‘roids would be All Pro.”

Florida Gator Mike Pouncey

Mike Pouncey has a #19 overall grade right now in the 2011 draft, and is rated as the drafts best center. Pouncey might make an ideal Raiders anchor, while potentially starting his Sunday career at guard. Pouncey is the type of “high character meets good genetics” athlete you can plug into an offensive line and let learn on the ropes, knowing he will improve with every start.

Pouncey has already stated his desire to join his bro with the Steelers, and the amorous feelings are mutual according to Stelers insiders. Tomlin struck gold once at the Pouncey family well… will the Raiders possibly “reach” up a bit in the 2011 draft to fulfill Pouncey’s dreams of wearing a black jersey after all?

————————————————————————–

Florida Center Mike Pouncey | Pouncey Draft Bio

Michael Pouncey (born July 24, 1989) is the starting center, and was previously the starting right guard, for the University of Florida. Pouncey is considered one the best center prospect heading into the 2011 NFL Draft.

Mike Pouncey was born in Lakeland, Florida in 1989. He attended Lakeland High School in Lakeland, where he played high school football for the Lakeland Dreadnaughts. As a senior in 2006, Pouncey helped lead the Dreadnaughts to their third consecutive Florida Class 5A state championship and second straight USA Today national championship.

Pouncey’s College Career: Pouncey received an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where he plays for coach Urban Meyer’s Florida Gators. As a freshman in 2007, he started the season as an offensive lineman but had to move to the defensive line as replacement when several defensive starters were injured. Pouncey started four of thirteen games as a freshman, recording eight tackles and an interception. As a sophomore in 2008, he moved back to the offensive line and started all fourteen of the Gators games at right guard, including the Gators’ 24–14 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners in the 2009 BCS National Championship Game. After his junior season in 2009, Pouncey was named an Associated Press honorable mention All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) selection. As a senior in 2010, he moved from guard to center for the Gators, replacing his twin brother Maurkice Pouncey at center, after Maurkice entered the 2010 NFL Draft after their junior year.

Pouncey’s twin brother Maurkice Pouncey was a first-round NFL Draft pick and is currently the starting center and an All Pro for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Louis Murphy and Tenacious B…locking

Normally a protected species, so much so that they grace every bill ever printed in this country… not on this October day. The Oakland Coliseum was littered with dead Eagles, courtesy of Louis Murphy and Zach Miller of the Raiders.

Louis Murphy has endeared himself to Oakland fans in his short Raiders tenure, proving himself to be a fiery, hard-working receiver with big play ability. But thats not why I love Louis Murphy. I love Louis Murphy because of one play which I believe deserves entry into any “how to be a complete wide receiver 101″ manual as a case study for aspiring high school wideouts…

Louis Murphy sprints upfield and lays out #27 Quintin Mikell with a punishing decleater block. Not satisfied, Murphy caught up to the play again and delivered a second block completely walling off Ellis Hobbs with pure heart and hustle, and finally Murphy made himself a crash test dummy and sealed Miller with a final body block on Antonio Dixon…. allowing Zach Miller to cruise into the end zone on an 86-yard catch-and-run.

Anybody else tearing the “#18 Moss” jersey up to make it read “#18 Murphy” yet, or at least wondering aloud if the “other #18″ of recent Raiders history would have put forth this kind of effort?

…uhhh, yeah right.

Oakland Raiders starting WR Louis Murphy, who thus far has outplayed #7 overall selection Darrius Heyward-Bey as a Raiders wide receiver, was arrested early this morning on three charges — possession of a drug without a valid prescription, failure to obey a police officer and resisting arrest without violence.

So what was the prescription drug the former Florida star had without a prescription? Vicodin? Percocet? Oxycontin? Morphine? Nope…

Murphy busted with Viagra…

The officer turned on his lights and ordered everyone to stay, and Murphy refused to give the officer his ID, instead wanting to know why he was pulled over. The officer attempted to place him under arrest, and it took 3 officers to get his hands behind his back.

Searching the car the police found the non-labeled prescription bottle that contained what turned out to be 11 little blue Viagra pills. He claimed he took of the label to hide the prescription from his girlfriend. The problem was that the Raiders starting WR did not have a prescription (at least with him, who does?) for the little blue pills of love, and the cop probably wasn’t pleased when Murphy refused to show his identification. Murphy is a fiery, dare I say “leader,” and it doesn’t surprise me that he was questioning being pulled over for loud music???

In the scheme of things, this “murphy gets popped with boner pills” news ranks up there on the yawn-meter with “Jamarcus Russell drinks purple drank” in terms of shock value… and I don’t think you’ll ever confuse Murphy with Terrell Owens or Rae Carruth either.

Any implied moral outrage would also get “man takes little blue pill so he can bang his girlfriend like Ron Jeremy, minus the wooly mammoth factor” filed under “S” for shocker as well.

… just ask Shawn Merriman, Tia Tequila & friends. Oops.
